Radiant Cut Diamond Rings – A Beautiful Choice

Radiant cut diamond rings are always very beautiful as the cut maximizes the shine and brilliance we associate with colorless diamonds.  But this is also a popular cut for colored diamonds such as yellow and pink stones as the style of facet cutting emphasizes the color.   You obviously would need to ensure that you are buying an original colored stone i.e. one that got its color from nature rather than the artificial colors added by some unscrupulous jewelers.

When you are buying any style diamond ring you need to be aware of some scams that may be used to make you spend more. One such scam is the inclusion of additional weight in a stone without it giving any extra beauty or shine.  The original radiant cut diamond company is strictly against this particular practice.  They and most respected jewelers believe that if you pay for a 2 carat diamond, you should get the full benefit of these 2 carats.

It is very easy to become confused when diamond shopping as there so many terms used to describe one stone.  The most important are cut, clarity, color and carat but the overall deciding factor when choosing a ring or any piece of jewelry is your own personal taste. Don’t forget that especially when you are in front of the sales people.   Other terms that may be used are symmetry and polish.   Symmetry refers to how the facets are aligned and polish describes the smoothness of these facets. But neither of these things is as important as the cut grade.

Radiant cut diamonds can be used for many pieces of jewelry including engagement rings, pendants, wedding bands and eternity rings.  It is not particularly suitable for earrings though as the two diamonds would have to be perfectly matched and this is not that easy with this type of cut. If you fancy radiant cut diamond earrings, you may be better advised to choose emerald or Asscher cuts as these are almost as beautiful and unlike the radiant, can be well matched.

You can buy loose diamonds and gemstones and have them set into a unique ring if you wish. If using radiant cut stones, you need to put the diamond in the center rather than the sapphire or other gemstone.  The brilliance created by the radiant cut can very easily overshadow a center placed gemstone so you would not be getting the full value from your ring.  On the other hand, having two beautiful sapphires, rubies or emeralds either side of a radiant cut diamond center stone would make an absolutely stunning ring.

If you preferred a pendant you could have the diamond at the centre of a circle of rubies, emeralds or sapphires to create a jewelry sensation.
At the end of the day, choosing jewelry is a very personal decision.  Obviously you want a well made piece, value for your money and authentic stones and craftsmanship.  But the saying beauty is in the eye of the beholder doesn’t apply much better than when associated with jewelry whether it includes radiant cut diamonds or not.
